Our Generation Outfits Review

Hello!  Welcome to Dollies in Wonderland!  This is my first ever review (on this blog at least)!!!  Recently, I got two outfits from Our Generation by Target.  In this post, I will review the dress outfit, and I will review the overalls outfit soon!  I had planned to review both in the same post, but the post ended up being too long :')
((You can find more pictures of my dolls wearing both outfits on my Instagram @dolliesinwonderland))
I was able to get these on sale a few weeks ago at my local Target.  The first outfit, Bright as the Sun, is a "deluxe outfit," and it retails for anywhere between $14 and $19, depending on if you can get it on sale or not.  The second outfit, Sweet Strawberry, is a "regular outfit" and retails for anywhere between $9 and $14.
This is the first outfit out of the box!  The main piece of this outfit is a lovely white chiffon dress with a large pink bow at the waist and little pink hearts in the same hot-pink color.  The little hearts are actually made from a felt-like material.  The dress itself is made of a nice, thick fabric, and its quality is comparable to (if not better than) many AG outfits.
This outfit also comes with a denim jacket with lovely embroidered flowers.  The accessories include a pair of hot-pink, heart-shaped sunglasses, a neon-yellow bag made of soft plastic/rubber, and a pair of sandals.  The sandals are my least favorite pieces in this outfit, and I will talk about why later.  Lastly, like all Our Generation outfits, this set comes with a plastic hanger and a card that shows an OG doll modeling the outfit.

The dress has the usual Velcro closure, and most (if not all) OG outfits use high-quality "snag-free" Velcro (which is better than AG, actually).  However, "snag-free" never means completely snag-free, so you would still want to be careful with this outfit.

It's hard to see from this picture, but OG doesn't do a superb job with its stitchings and seams.  I have had outfits come apart at the seams after being used only twice :(

Here is a close up of the embroideries on the jacket.  I absolutely adore this jacket.  It's made of a sturdy denim material, but it is also thin enough to give the outfit its summery appeal.

Here are the sandals that I said I didn't like.  They are the fabric shoes that often come with OG's outfits, and the yellow straps come with Velcro for easy on/off.  The soles are made of faux leather instead of plastic or rubber.  They are of rather poor quality.  Any careless pulling or tugging would likely break the thin, flimsy straps.  Having said that, the shoes are very pretty and they do fit perfectly on my AG doll's feet.  I appreciate that they aren't pink but go very well with the pink/white dress anyway.
And here we have a close-up of the purse and sunglasses.  The sunglasses are adorable, but expect that the lenses will be scratched up with play.  All in all, I love the bright colors of the accessories.Helping me model this outfit today is the lovely Miss Maaya Nomiya (formerly known as Ivy Ling).  Please enjoy her lovely pictures.  More can be found on my Instagram @dolliesinwonderland
